Youth Programme

Youth Weekend Away 2011

Youth Discipleship (Friday's)

Open to anyone aged 11-18. We meet at the Church offices in St. Sulpice on alternate Fridays from 7:30-9:30pm for worship, prayer, bible teaching and fellowship and games. We are currently studying what it means to be a disciple looking at a Christian Living study guide. The evening is very much interactive and has a relaxed feel. We will also split in smaller age-related groups for some discussion where necessary ie. 11-14, 15-18 to cover more appropriate topics.

Refuel (Friday's)

Open to anyone aged 11-18. We meet at Carl & Gabrielle Svanstrom's place in Lutry on alternate Fridays from 7:00-9:30pm for a meal, worship, prayer, bible teaching and fellowship and games. We will eat and play games outside in the summer months and go indoors in the winter. With a very lively atmosphere we will look at various topics and issues that young people are facing today and what it means to be a Christian in all spheres of life. We will split into small groups where necessary ie. 11-14, 15-18 to cover more appropriate topics.

Sunday Morning

We alternate fortnightly the young people staying in the sermon for the Sunday morning service. We will worship with the main congregation weekly and have a separate but related sermon on alternate Sundays when we walk up to the Church offices together. We are currently in the book of Luke and therefore the youth will always be looking at the same passage on a Sunday morning as their parents in the adult congregation to encourage further discussion of the Word as a family.

Youth Notes
On the weeks when the young people stay in for the sermon, a youth note booklet is prepared to assist with the sermon which is also uploaded to the website weekly. These notes can be picked-up from the table at the back every Sunday.

Retreats & Events

These are a fantastic opportunity for the youth to get together and enjoy fellowship, discuss issues and worship together. We do a youth retreat in the Autumn every year. This year 34 of us packed into a cosy Swiss chalet in the mountains of Rougemont as we studied the lives of Bible characters who served God in their youth. Each year we attempt a winter day and a summer day of activites. This January we will head to Leysin toboggan park and fly down some icy slopes on rubber rings. We also have social evenings and a Christmas party.
